Kerala's Kudumbashree is a people-centred movement that has made a significant contribution to the social empowerment of women and poverty eradication in the state. Its primary objective is to promote women's economic self-reliance and enhance their participation in social development.
Inception
Kudumbashree is the State Poverty Eradication Mission launched by the Government of Kerala on 17 May 1998. It functions under the leadership of Local Self-Government Institutions with active participation from the community.
